Great, you've made it! Here you'll find a collection of our latest work, case studies from previous campaigns and most importantly, you'll meet the team that makes up our agency. Please, browse around at your leisure.
We're a collection of anglers, artists, marathoners, pilots, coffee enthusiasts, film makers,
ex-ball players, world travelers and fantasy sports fanatics. Separately, we're all unique individuals. Together, we're Freed.
Our passion is advertising, marketing and public relations work that blurs the commonly held definitions of what those entail. We do this with experience gained from past work in larger and smaller agencies, for some of the biggest, best known brands in the world.
Contact Freed today and you'll speak with a team empowered to make a difference in your branding communications. More importantly, you'll connect with people who are willing and able to get to the core of your branding challenges - with tremendous results.
Rather than try to out shout the competition, Freed took a more refined, strategic approach with IKEA Houston and developed a friendly, unique voice that spoke to the customer, not at them. In addition, we gave seasonal reasons for making IKEA a part of people’s lives, instead of just focusing on holidays like other furniture stores. The results? A stunning over 10% increase in store traffic.
With just a week before kickoff, Freed caught the chance to produce a spot for Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land to run during Super Bowl 50. A game plan was quickly implemented and we tackled the challenge head on. One breakneck week of white-knuckle craziness and incredible teamwork by all involved later, MBSL hit the airwaves in front of its largest audience ever. Score!
In order to better serve our clients, literally, Freed has begun hosting Food For Thought luncheons. The goal is to stir up fresh thinking, get the creative juices flowing and hit upon new recipes for their success. And also to stuff ourselves silly.
Freed recently acquired the Smart Financial Centre account to help brand, market and advertise the new performance/concert hall currently being built in Sugar Land. This state-of-the-arts facility is sure to become the newest, and hottest, entertainment venue in greater Houston. We’re pumped to get cranking!
Another recent addition to the Freed roster is pro bono work on behalf of Hope For Three, a Fort Bend County based organization that helps families living with the challenges of raising a child with autism. They’re a great group that does tremendous good and we’re proud to help in any way we can. So much so, Gerald is now a member of the Hope For Three Board.
We are a team comprised of art directors, designers, writers, strategists and leaders who develop result-driven and award-winning ideas for local, regional, national and global clients.
At Freed, we believe in creating an environment that offers you the freedom to explore. The freedom to question everything. The freedom to stand for something. The freedom to lead.

After walking down the streets of his native Laredo, Gerald headed to the University of Texas at Austin where he became a lifelong longhorn. It was during these formative years that he honed his innate business savvy and cultivated a deft marketing acumen. Upon graduation Gerald realized, rather than work for The Man he'd just go ahead and be The Man. Thus Freed Advertising was born in 1984. To this day, Freed Advertising remains one of the most successful independent advertising agencies in Houston.
Throughout his storied 30 years in advertising and marketing, Gerald has amassed an impressive list of clients including Houston Texans, IKEA Houston, ARS, The Woodlands, San Jacinto College, Sienna Plantation and Mike Calvert Toyota.
Gerald serves on the South Texas Council of the American Association of Advertising Agencies (4A's) and is an advisory board member of The Dream Fund.
When he isn't building brands, Gerald can be found fishing. Or hanging out with the locals at Papa Libre's Cantina, strategically located inside the agency.

With the housing market in flux, it has become more and more important for communities to differentiate themselves and stand out in the landscape. This is even more true with a new community entering an established area. Aliana not only needed to garner the attentions of potential homebuyers, but also the Builders and Realtors as well.
Aliana jumped in with both feet, featuring something beyond simply a collection of amenities and facilities. Instead, the Aliana community offers more than a new place to live - Aliana offers a new way of life
